Associate Director, Paid Search & Social (Chicago Office)


We are looking for a marketing expert who has mastered both Paid Search and Paid Social. The Associate Director, Paid Search & Social will focus on large-scale and multi-faceted campaigns and deliverables. This position will manage paid search and social planning and execution across all major search and social platforms. Prior hands on experience in paid search and social is a must. The Paid Search & Social Specialist will also be required to work onsite in a fast-paced, high-touch client office in Chicago 3 days a week.


  • Plan and execute paid search and social campaigns, follow up with teams to discuss client feedback, propose new strategies, ongoing optimizations and campaign reporting
  • Manage paid search and social media budgets, pacing and monthly billing reconciliation
  • Oversee and manage paid social workflow, including  managing content calendars and updating plans as needed
  • Analyze the performance of campaigns and identify strategic opportunities while also demonstrating a willingness to bring new ideas, approaches and tests to the client
  • Stays ahead of relevant paid search and social trends while keeping the client informed
  • Gain a firm understanding of the client’s entire product offering and how the media mix can be applied to each facet of their business


  • Bachelors in Marketing, Advertising, PR, Communications, Information Science, Business
  • 3-4 year experience managing Paid Search and Social Media accounts along with a solid understanding of paid, earned and owned media
  • Client communication and boundary-setting skills
  • Over-communicator as the internal team will require constant updates
  • Should have a working knowledge of traditional search, digital, programmatic, social and content marketing
  • Must be  a self-starter and willing to continually follow up with work teams
  • Must be able to handle multiple, competing priorities while meeting deadlines, managing risk, and troubleshooting problems
  • Working knowledge of the following platforms: Google AdWords, Bing Ads, Yahoo Gemini, Marin, Sprinklr, 4C


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3-4 years’ industry/social media experience
  • Agency experience
  • Based in Chicago


  • Superior listening skills and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective presentation skills
  • Proven success in a fast-paced environment with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude
  • Knowledge of and experience with using most paid search and social media tools/ platforms
  • Acute attention to detail and superb time/ task management skills
  • Efficient and effective multi-tasker
  • Can effectively execute against multiple priorities (internal and external) simultaneously in a cross-functional environment
